We apologize for all the updating/chances on the 2008 line, as we have not received all the information; we are updating as changes are brought to our attention.

Because we cannot confirm availability on the European and Japanese exclusive (Shop Girl and The Artist), for the time being we have stopped taking orders until we can confirm availability. We just learned today that we will NOT be receiving our order of Lady of the Unicorn, and sincerely apologize for this. It is extremely challenging when US dealers try and source product that is not for the US market. We do not mean or want to disappoint our customers, and in view of this we will only be able to honor a limited amount of the Shop Girl/Artist. We do NOT have any final numbers as of today, but will be sure to email our customers who have preordered when we get confirmation and if there is a chance the order won't be filled. We appreciate your business and patience.

We are disappointed to report that the Dealer Exclusive Market Day has been dropped from the line and do not have any further information on what the dealer exclusive will be. We will post when we do get confirmation from Mattel.

The Essence of Style - Fashion stylist Patricia Field and Barbie join forces to introduce Barbie by Patricia Field, which will be a cutting edge collection of Barbie inspired adult women's apparel, accessories and handbags. The new collection, which will include sportswear, vintage inspired dresses, signature jewelry and handbags will be available at Macy's East, Hot Topic and Patricia Field's boutique in downtown New York. This collection is comprised of two different women's contemporary lines - Barbie Luxe by Patricia Field available exclusively at Macy's East and Junior's Barbie Wear by Patricia Field available at Hot Topic. Both lines balance Patricia Field's inventive, fun style with the timeless sophistication of Barbie.

Playline News - Barbie is all about makeup and what better line to introduce than Candy Glam! Also look for Barbie Peek-a-boo petites, which remind me of Kologne Kiddles. Really cute! Barbie is adventurous and what better line than Barbie Party cruise.

More Toy Fair Scoop! This is all preliminary information, subject to change. We know how excited and anxious our customers are to hear news and just want to remind you that we have not been able to confirm what dealers will be carrying. When we do we will post immediately.

Gorgeous Greeting Assortment will include three dolls, one of them being a Birthday themed doll. There will be an Elvis and Priscilla Wedding Set, with Elvis smartly dressed in a dashing tux and Priscilla (who will be on this season of Dancing With the Stars), will wear an elegant, simple gown with a beautiful trimmed veil. Lucy and Ethel will be dressed in the ever so popular Job Switching uniforms, Lucy in her full "A-Line" dress and Ethel in her sheath uniform and as a bonus there will also be a Kelly set in the Paris gown and burlap dress. The 2008 Holiday, created by Sharon Zuckerman celebrates 20 years of this fantastic series. Her gown which is a drop waist white satin with a silver pleated skirted bottom is amazing! Juicy Couture founders Pam and Gela will be dazzling us with their likeness in their Juicy inspired fashions. Lara fans will be thrilled to see the Lara head mold in the new Super Girl doll. DC will also have Tommy and Kelly as Batman and Catwoman! How adorable. We are really excited about all these new concepts and know collectors will be awe struck by the new line.

Look for Bat Girl, with her flowing red hair and colorful suit in July; Super Girl with her silver costume and long blonde hair in August, the ever sizzling Black Canary dressed in a sleek leather jacket, matching shorts and black fishnet tights in September; and Wonder Woman in October.

Reproductions will include Campus Spirit which features a blonde ponytail in Cheerleader and Barbie's handsome boyfriend Ken in Touchdown. ALSO, cheer for Midge! There WILL be a Midge and Allan reproduction set featuring a brunette Midge in Swingin' Easy and Allan in Campus Hero!

Sandy, Frenchy and Rizzo will all be back in 2008. Sandy will be wearing an adorable white dress, Rizzo a fitted tea length reddish-pinkish dress and Frenchy a yellow tea length dress. These are all due in June.

A stunning Vera Wang Bride will be here in July! She is amazing. We will also see the 2008 Holiday in a fantastic silver gown due in June, Gorgeous Greeting Assortment, due in July, features Barbie in a Purple Jumpsuit. As this is an assortment, I imagine there will be variations of this doll. There also will be a 2008 Angel, dressed in a beautiful blue and white gown with wings.

Silkstone News: Je Ne Sais Quoi, due in July, features an auburn Silkstone in a stunning metallic gold suit trimmed in brown fur. The Showgirl is a beautiful brunette in a pink "Las Vegas" type costume adorned with a feather headress, due in July; The Shop Girl is a sassy black haired doll with silver streaks, wearing a exquisite black suit, due in July; The Artist, due in July, wears a fitted black skirt, striped top and red "painters" hat, due in July.

These jackets are very hard to find nowadays. They have been worn several times, but they are clean and look brand new. The labeled size is XS, but it can fit from a Small to a Medium. Barbie on the Runway, the 2008 National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention, will be held on June 18-21, 2008 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, 2345 McGee Street, Kansas City.

We have learned of a production issue affecting the first Barbie® Fashion Model Collection (BFMC^TM) dolls released in 2007. When exposed to light, the heads of some dolls have begun to yellow. This was a manufacturing issue which has been corrected in subsequent BFMC dolls.

The four dolls that were affected by the production issue are K7932 The Ingenue^TM Barbie®, K7939 Hollywood Bound^TM Barbie®, K7918 Red Hot Reviews^TM Barbie®, and K7933 The Siren Barbie®.

If you are a U.S. collector who purchased any of these dolls through Mattel or another retailer or auction site, you now have the opportunity to exchange your original doll for a replacement doll. Replacement doll packages will bear the statement “This doll is a replacement version” above the Individual Doll Code (IDC) to indicate that the production issue has been corrected. All product details will remain the same.

1) Call customer service at 800-628-6797 by May 1, 2008, to initiate your return. Customer service is open from 7AM to 10PM Central, seven days a week. A shipping label will be sent to you.

2) Pack your doll(s) in original clothing, and ship using the provided shipping label. It is not necessary to send original packaging or accessory pieces. Dolls must be received by June 1, 2008. Any dolls received after this date will not be eligible for replacement.

3) Look for your replacement doll to arrive approximately between June and September, 2008. Replacement dolls will be shipped based on the date when original doll was returned.

Mattel Inc., maker of Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher-Price toys, said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit rose 15 percent as tax gains helped offset charges related to product recalls.

The El Segundo, Calif.-based company reported its net income grew to $328.5 million, or 89 cents per share, from $286.4 million, or 75 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter. The latest period included charges of about $42 million related to the company's recalls of lead-tainted toys, and tax benefits of $47.3 million.

Sales rose 4 percent to $2.19 billion from $2.11 billion last year, with all of the increase.

As some have noticed, a few of the links for the Vintage Catalog aren't working. This is because the catalogue is still in some major construction. We are trying our best to get things fixed and at the same time, we are trying to organize the catalogue so that it is easier to navigate through the different sections. So please bear with us for a little while!

We hope you are enjoying the vintage section of our site and do plan on putting more of the vintage dolls on the site as time permits.

Barbie is showcasing iDesign, an online fashion design game for girls with real-world outfit and accessory cards to buy and collect. The latest effort to link toys you can buy in a store with a digital world, iDesign mixes girls' love for fashion with a computer game.

A $30 starter kit comes with CD-ROM software, a USB-connected scanner, and 60 fashion cards that can be "swiped" to transfer the cards' outfits and accessories onto the computer. They go into Barbie's computer closet, and girls can drop and drag outfits to dress the 2D doll. Sets of 15 extra cards cost $5; there are 200 total cards.

Gather enough outfits, and girls can plan and design a fashion show, choosing music and lighting as well as outfits. They can also create magazine spreads and play included games.

At last!!! We have finally started adding Ponytail Barbie to the Vintage Catalog! The catalog is still under some major construction. We'll be putting the dolls up as we are labeling them! Some may not have a price and some descriptions due to the fact that we are still working on them! If you are interested in any doll that does NOT have a price, please give us a call!

The ever popular Grease series will continue with Rizzo, Frenchy & Sandy due in December, 2007 and Cha Cha in Spring , 2008. OK you Dallas Cowboys Fans, hold on to your seats as Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader will debut in December, 2007 in Blonde, Brunette and AA. Next in line for the vintage repro is a stunning American Girl in Campus Sweetheart. Here is a surprise! E! Live from the Red Carpet Barbie will debut in December, 2007 and is designed by Badgley-Mischka! There are two Silkstones that will be released in Spring, 208 - one is a Pajama Silkstone and the other is an AA doll wearing a classy fitted suit!

We have just been advised by Mattel that the Kimora Lee Simmons Barbie® Doll is scheduled to be available beginning in February 2008. We also hope to have an update on Movie Mixer soon.

Many might have heard that Mattel has issued a recall on Fisher Price toys as result of the recent discovery that one of their vendors used non-approved paint with impermissible levels of lead (click here for current story). Mattel is undertaking comprehensive testing of all Fisher-Price and Mattel products. Mattel believes this is the right thing to do, but it will slow down shipping in some areas. Please note that this has NOT affected the Barbie Collector line. Here is a link to the listing of recalled items.

We are sorry to inform customers that had the Dooney & Burke #2 on order that it has been dropped from the line. Please be assured we do NOT charge until the dolls actually ship. If you had her on preorder, your card was not charged.

Shipping Updates: Due in soon - Movie Mixer Silkstone! Hollywood Hostess and Reem Acra will ship in September and Jazz Baby Pivotal Dolls will be shipping later than expected. We will update the site when we receive more information.

We strive to not only bring you the very best in Barbie Collecting, but to do so at a good value. We understand and respect that all of our customers, like us, work hard to earn a living. Because of this, we do not take changes in the cost of our dolls lightly. While our policy is officially that all prices are subject to change without notice, we rarely must make a pricing change, and if we do, it's often a reduction as we pass any savings we receive on to you. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of fuel prices, transportation costs and dozens of other overhead expenses that only increase every year.

We don't just love our collectors, we love our collecting, too. Which is why we will always go the extra mile to offer you that special exclusive doll that's only available in a certain market, or at a certain time. In the case of the Silkstone Career Secretary doll, we tried to anticipate the best place to position the pricing according to how similar items have been priced throughout the years. Our costs aren't just the price of the doll itself, what we must pay to import the doll, all quoted in the currency of the location we are importing from. This time around, the markets were not on our side, and the Canadian / US Dollar exchange rate swung unfavorably, increasing our cost for the doll. Also, the cost of importing the doll (transportation, customs, brokerage, etc.) went up sharply this year. These are costs we only have estimates for until the dolls have actually arrived in our warehouse... which is only happening now. That said, in order to make it possible to offer the doll to our customers, we have had to alter the retail price by $10.

We sincerely feel that we were as fair as possible, as the increase we must absorb on our end certainly exceeded the amount of the increase we have passed on. In the future, we promise to try and predict more accurately what pricing changes may occur; however, because the future is indeed unpredictable, we still maintain our policy that pre-order pricing may change before, during, and after the development and release of any product we may offer. Please understand, again, that we continue to anticipate this to be an exceedingly rare occurrence. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Update on the release of the highly anticipated Cher dolls -- we know many have been reading conflicting dates of her release. We confirmed with our Mattel rep that they will be shipping to dealers in July. We will update our site as more information is received.

2007 Hallmark News -- There are some darling Barbie themed ornaments that are due out later this year. Little Black Dress, Spa Day Barbie, Roman Holiday Barbie, Dusk to Dawn, Continental Holiday, 2007 Holiday, Barbie as Rosella in Barbie as the Island Princess and Flower Ballerina Barbie.

Great news! The new Barbie Collector Magazine has been shipped and should arrive next week. We will send them (via USPS) as soon as they arrive! If you have not ordered your copy, click here! We know our customers are excited and anxious to receive the premiere issue! I have two articles in the premiere issue, one on licensed products and a question and answer column which I hope you enjoy! I am very excited about the magazine and know it will be a huge success, as we have missed having a magazine for some time now. Kudos to Jones Publishing for all their hard work and efforts.

Update on Baby Phat Design Doll -- Under the direction of Kimora Lee Simmons, the Baby Phat brand has established itself in the world of fashion as the premiere female hip-hop brand. With the name and label designation change, the doll remains essentially the same, but with some additional accessories and changes to the lining of the jacket. A new image will be available soon and there has been a price increase on the doll.

Mattel Inc. unveiled new Barbie MP3 players, as the toy maker moves to modernize its long-running Barbie business.

Mattel's new Barbie MP3 players will retail for $59.99. The new line, dubbed Barbie Girls, is a multi-platform concept that involves a hand-held, four-and-a-half-inch MP3 player that connects to a Web site, www.barbiegirls.com. A test version of the site was launched last week that allows kids to create and interact with virtual characters who shop, decorate, play games and chat live with other girls. The MP3 player, which also comes with accessories, will be available at retail stores July 1 for $59.99.

At this time we don't plan to carry the players but if customers request it, we might add it to our showcase of items! Email us your thoughts.

tru.com is now accepting preorders on the 90's Cher Reunion Doll, which is a platinum label exclusive doll only available through Toysrus.com.

Cyberspace has become the new front line in the battle between Mattel Inc.'s Barbie line and MGA Entertainment's Bratz collection.

On Tuesday, Mattel launched a test run of BarbieGirls.com, an online community where girls can create their own Barbie dolls and interact with each other in a manner reminiscent of Second Life, a virtual world for adults that boasts more than 2 million users.

The Web site is the first glimpse into Mattel's Barbie Girl initiative, its next-generation fashion doll line and latest attempt to gain ground in its heated competition with Bratz.

At BarbieGirls.com, users can customize their character's look and style. They can also go to the "mall" and shop for clothes, accessories and furniture for their online room. They can even adopt a pet.

YEAH!!!!! Auction books are done and will be in the mail Thursday, April 12th. We have devoted all of our time on the book and have not done many updates (we are back now :)
